Important Message About Worship at The Room

March 21, 2020

Room Family:

Until further notice,  our Sunday Worship Experience will air through Facebook Live each week at 10:30 am.

As concerns surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) are rising, there is now an executive order limiting public gatherings to 10 people or less. Based on this information, we have altered our ministry operations.

While the Bible reminds us that we are not to be anxious for anything, we also know we are to use wisdom and discernment in all that we do.

DOING OUR PART:
We want to encourage everyone to continue the practice of maintaining healthy behaviors necessary during this season. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended the following practices:

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water. Use an alcohol-based hand cleaner if soap and water are not available.
  • Cover nose and mouth with a sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth to prevent the spread of germs.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects, such as toys and doorknobs, especially if someone is sick.
  • Stay home when sick.

HIGH RISK POPULATIONS:
Please know that the CDC has identified the following groups as high risk populations:
  • Older adults
  • Individuals who have chronic health conditions, such as:
    • high blood pressure
    • heart disease
    • diabetes
    • lung disease
    • compromised immune systems

If you fit any of these categories, we encourage you to stay home and take care of yourself.

STAYING CONNECTED:
While we are not meeting corporately, here’s how you can stay connected to The Room:

  • We will go Live on  Facebook on Sundays at 10:30 am – The Room’s Facebook Page
  • To participate in Worship Through Giving visit our website – Tithes & Offerings
  • Soul Food Bible Study will be conducted by Zoom (video conferencing).  Log-on information will be shared by email an through Life Group leaders.

A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR J:
The spread of this virus has certainly caused fear and anxiety in many. But I’m grateful that the Word of God reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7 that, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”. My prayer for you is that you’d sense God’s peace in the midst of these difficult and uncertain circumstances, and that by His Spirit He’d show us all how to respond practically and spiritually.

On behalf of myself, First Lady Al. and THE ROOM family, we love you and are praying for you and your families’ continued safety and well-being and for all those who have been affected by this virus. We’re also praying for our medical community as they deal with the impact of this crisis.
