Proverbs 11:14 states, "Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." No church is an island! A church outside of Godly covering to which they are accountable run the risk of being a place that teems with self-righteousness and a blatant disregard for order, structure and leadership. The Upper Room Christian Cathedral is a non-denominational Christian church. We give ourselves to the name and designation of Jesus the Christ. We are a Christian church set out to follow the Biblical example of those Christian churches of the New Testament. Go to Galatia, Ephesus, Crete or Corinth and you found the same structure and order: Local administration - the Pastor; Regional / Jurisdictional administration - the Apostle (Paul); Global / Corporate administration - the body that sent the Apostle (Paul) forth. Here is a brief history and description of who we are submitted and accountable to.

The Mt. Calvary Holy Churches of America, Inc. began in 1929 as the vision of a God inspired man, Bishop Brumfield Johnson. At that time, Bishop Johnson was associated with the United Holy Church of America and served as the Pastor of a church in Summit, New Jersey, where Mt. Calvary was given birth. Obeying the leading of the Lord, Bishop Johnson and a group of workers went to a conference in Boston, Massaschusetts and adopted the principles now adhered to by the Mt. Calvary Holy Churches of America. The number joining the new organization numbered about 200 with many others from various states uniting with them over the years that followed.

Mt. Calvary Holy Church has grown in membership, yet the church has not forgotten its humble origin, purpose and destiny. It is committed to the principles of Christ, to the preaching and the teaching of the unadulterated gospel of deliverance, to becoming more and more concerned with world problems and the problems found at its doors. Mt. Calvary is represented throughout the United States and is internationally represented in Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad, West Indies and London, England.

The Senior Bishop of this great organization is Bishop Harold I. Williams. Bishop Alfred A. Owens is the organization's Vice-Bishop and is the direct covering of Pastor Radford and the Upper Room Christian Cathedral.
